John L. Mericle

John L. Mericle co-founded this firm as Harris & Mericle. John’s practice emphasizes securities regulation. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. (with Honors) in Government in 1972 and with a J.D. in 1974. John is a member of the American Bar Association's State Regulation of Securities Committee (1981-present), the Committee Liaison to the Washington Securities Division (1986 - present), and was the Committee's Liaison to the North American Securities Administrators Association’s Cross-Border Trading Committee during its existence (1996). He has served as the Chair of the statutory Advisory Committee of the Washington Securities Division, a Special District Counsel to the Washington State Bar Association Disciplinary Board (1990 - present) and a member of the Washington State Bar Association's Securities Law Committee, Section of Corporation, Business and Banking Law (1993 - present). In addition, he is a member of the American Arbitration Association Securities Panel (Seattle, Washington). John served as an Adjunct Professor at the Seattle University School of Law from 1992 until 2008, where he taught a course in Securities Regulation. He is a frequent speaker at securities law seminars in both the United States and Canada.
